An Angel Pin for Minnie Lee Runnels

Virginia Kernaghan gave an angel pin gift to her sister Minnie Lee Runnels. "Sis" has always been an "Angel" in Virginia's life.

MinnieLeeRunnels.jpgNot only is Minnie Lee my older sister whom we all call Sis, but she is also my mentor and my Angel. She taught me how to teach school, how to make a speech, how to teach a Sunday School class, how to be a hostess, how to sing in a choir, and how to be a Christian friend to other people. All of this was by her example. I'm sure she didn't realize it at the time, but she became my mentor by showing me with the things she did in her life.

Her work ethic has always been a beautiful example of how to be a worker in business, in school and in church. She worked all through her college years to have enough money to go to college. She also helped our mother in our home with household chores. Sis taught school for many years, taught Sunday School and sang in choirs in every city where they lived. She has been a fabulous chef, a graceful hostess for many parties in her home and at church, teaching me by what she did rather than by what she said. Her friendly attitude toward people of every race and culture was truly a way of endearing her to me and to other people. God knew I was going to need a Minnie Lee in my life when he gave me to that special family of which she was the oldest child. That is why she is my special Angel.
