An Angel Pin for Clyde Andrew Murray
Virginia Kernaghan gave an angel pin tie tack to Clyde Andrew Murray. Clyde has been an angel in her life since high school.
Clyde Andrew Murray
by Virginia Hollis Kernaghan
Clyde was a classmate of mine in high school and after many years, we renewed our friendship through phone calls, e-mail, letters and visits. Clyde is a friend to everyone he ever knew. He is the kind of person who makes one glad to know him. His friendly ways and ready smile endear him to everyone.
I remember when we were in high school, often during Study Hall I would go to the Auditorium to practice a song I was going to sing for an assembly or a program of some kind. Clyde would often accompany me there. Now, I couldn't play piano nor could Clyde, but we thought it was great adventure to get out of Study Hall, and perhaps the teacher thought I might need help from Clyde to maneuver the steps or something for she would let us go. Later in life when I became a teacher, I would have never let two kids leave my room on a pretext such as that but we grew up in a time of innocence prior to WW11. Although we never dated, we were great friends and Clyde never let me feel anything less than perfect. Clyde is a friend whom many people rely on, and he attends funerals and weddings of many of our former classmates, often writing me to tell me who he has seen recently. Clyde is the kind of angel this world needs more of.
The following are photos from Virginia Kernaghan's photograph albums of memories.
